Room 655, St. Giles Hotel, London

After sulking at my sandy jeans and shoes, it was time to continue on our walk towards Covent Garden.

Passing under the impressive Admiralty Arch (although as you can see there are three arches), we found ourselves in a surprisingly pigeon-less Trafalgar Square. We took pictures of Lord Nelson's Column and the façade of the National Gallery, then tried continuing on by bus - only to find that the road was blocked for an upcoming demonstration.

So we had lunch in a nearby cafe instead. When we came out, there were protestors beginning to march down the street.

In the end we got stuck for what seemed like hours whilst an endless procession of people passed by, waving their signboards and banners and flags and chanting and passing out flyers at the side.

All the protestors finally reached their destination - Trafalgar Square - and we could finally continue on to Covent Garden.

The place was already full of people browsing the little shops and stands or sitting around enjoying the weather and the various performances.

I had over an hour to wander around the area, and whilst everything seemed very pricey, it was interesting browsing all the crafts for sale in the markets, as well as the few tiny shops selling gifts.

It was almost dinnertime when we left Covent Garden, so we just headed for Chinatown, where we ate at the same restaurant again.
